Foley's Story

Lived a Life Without Love...Now Knows Nothing But Love

Foley lived a life of neglect. His previous owner thought it was perfectly fine to leave him in the backyard in a crate with no shelter, food or water....exposed to sun and weather. Fortunately he was taken to the local animal control in Mansfield TX. They saved his life.

We at Night Song Refuge became aware of Foley and his situation from the internet. We contacted the officials in Mansfield and agreed to take him. He had demodex mange so bad he had next to no hair. The owner said he was a wolfdog and with his lack of hair it was impossible to confirm or deny that statement. We took him because he pulled on our heartstrings. He was also infected with heartworms.

How could someone allow this to happen?

Foley loved the wind in what little hair he had on the day we picked him up in TX.

Foley visited our veterinarian, Dr Hargus, within days of his pickup.

Foley has lived with us since April of 2008. He is has a full body of hair and is doing well. He loves his new family and sleeps at the foot of our bed. He sticks to Cathy Beall like glue. He likes to be outside but only with his people. He goes out for potty time but prefers to be a house dog. I guess all that time out in the elements took its toll on him.

Foley is a bit camera shy now but notice the full mane of hair now.

Foley owes his life to the generosity of others. Without the generous donations of people across the nation, Night Song Refuge would not be able to help him overcome the atrocities he suffered earlier in life.
